I forgot to ask, indoor startups or outdoor? Indoors, when I start mine, I make sure both garage doors and a window is open. Far more exhaust smell than my F250.

Sounds about normal if it is a tier 4....sure do miss the real diesel stink!

its not teir 4 2014 model stinks outside a bit too like loading bucket with firewood just never noticed fumes so much on bx of coarse one less cylinder too.
If it doesnt change by 50 hours i will build a stack for it

- Getting old. Sold the ranch. Sold the tractors. Moved back to the city.
Could be the wind direction. I'd get diesel fumes in my face from my 2008 Mahindra 5525 at times when mowing into the wind. Otherwise, no smell at all.

Sometimes I get a smell of fumes from lugging the engine when I scoop a pile of dirt. Otherwise my pre tier crap engine burns clean enough that it is not a problem.

My Tier III M9540 smokes a lot on startup. But I rarely have any exhaust smell when operating it and I run low exhaust. Year ago I bought a 1984 Ford 3910 Diesel. I realize now that my Kubota burns a lot cleaner. The Ford will leave an exhaust plume trail when putting a load on it.
