New Holland 1030
Well the new Boomer 1030 was delivered today and she sure is pretty. Problem is she goes back tomorrow. Yes not even a 1/4 hour on the clock and she needs to go back to the dealer. I noticed that the Hydro pump was making a noise like it isn't bled off properly now that the new loader is installed thats #1. Second the front differential and drive shaft are making a heck of a racket. When I turn lock to lock under power in auto 4WD, there's a ratcheting sound similar to a tracked loaders tracks on a hard surface.(A loud clacking sound) Problem #2. I was wondering if it was the sensi-track auto 4WD system but I don't remember hearing it when I test drove a unit a year ago in a parking lot at another dealer. Anyway I hope they don't have to split the cases or front diff to find the problem, I need the tractor since I start my new building next week. If anyone has an idea what it may be please chime in. Mark

Well before I noticed the noise I tried to move a small pile of pea gravel that I had in the side yard. The 1030 wouldn't even go into the pile with the bucket flat and above the ground, the engine actually died, shutt off completely. I moved that stone from where my shed had been with the BX2200 and had to dig below grade to do it and the Bota never broke a sweat. I would think this unit being 6 hp more would have eaten the stone without fail. There has to be something wrong with this unit I can't believe that it doesn't have the power equal to the BX. I know someone on this site has to have experience with a 1110 or 1030 so as I stated please respond. I love the size and ergonomics of this New Holland and hope that it's not to weak to do simple tasks like I need. I like the product but hope it wasn't a mistake on my part to purchase it. Mark

Scaper. Sorry to hear you are having a problem. My personal blue toys are very reliable as is my dealer. Sounds like the hydropump is not operating or the hydro filter is obstructed or plugged(if that is possible).

If your dealer is not helping or even if they are and you are not getting the timely support you need I would surely call the customer service number.

I had an out of warranty problem with my tz22da that my dealer could not handle and he suggested I call the customer service number from the NH website. I did that and the problem was resolved immediately.

Hope that helps.. NH REALLy is a super brand of tractor. We know problems happen but it is in the end how the dealer responds that matters.

Well we are reading and dont have much to say, because we dont have anything much helpful to offer. All I can say is years ago (and 2 orange tractors later) I had a boomer TC33da, I had to have the dealer adjust the Relief for more hydraulic pressure, as the FEL was very weak, but after that was done it worked great. The sensitrak worked smoothly from the get go. Like you I cannot understand why the tractor would die when going into a pile of gravel. Send it back and get it looked at is all I can say..

I agree K0ua it's hard to say whats up with the tractor. They took it back today and they said the ratchet sound in the front end is normal with seni-track. The man that picked the 1030 up watched the unit fail to dig into the pea gravel and forward motion stop. He stated that this was not normal and that something must be wrong wirh the pumps for the Hydro. He said that it didn't even spin the tires it just died out. Tomorrow they said it will be put on a dyno to see what the HP is under load. It sure can't be much. A friend that is a mechanic said it may not be gettimg enough fuel under load maybe a injector problem. What ever it is as long as it's fixed right and soon I won't mind. If it comes back under powered that will be the end of it. Money back and I'll buy a new Kubota and I told them as much, can't do the job can't be in my garage and they understood. I hope it's something that can be fixed I do like the unit. Mark

Well I dont know about a 1030, but my TC33DA, as I remember it was as quiet as a church mouse.. I dont remember any noise at all comming from its front end. I had sensi-track and SuperSteer, both worked very well. Now it has been about 9 years ago, and I am getting older.. but:D
And if you went into a really tough pile, the wheels would spin even with an implement on the back, the Engine never bogged any that I remember. I would check this tractor out very carefully before I accepted it back to have and to hold, till death do you part:) Good luck.

I'm sorry to hear about the problems with your new tractor. We bought a brand new T1520 with an engine noise. The dealer promised a brand new engine if there were any problems. Unfortunately, the dealer did not stand behind that promise and I have a brand new tractor still making the noise. I went to several other dealers to listen to the same tractor and they did not have the noise, except there is one brand new tractor on a lot in MA making the same exact noise as when I bought mine. This tells me that since my engine has now been rebuilt, there is another brand new tractor on a lot that needs to have the engine rebuilt as well. We tried the customer service line and what a waste of time that was. A regional rerepresentative claimed the noise was normal and they would not to anything else to repair it unless the tractor stopped running or a crank rod was sticking out of the block. I have let them know that I am putting the word out about my experience on sites such as Tractor By Net, so mabe if enough of us do this, New Holland will take better care of their customers and start weeding out the bad dealers who sell there products. Also remember that even though our tractor purchases are a big deal and important to us, our families and friends are even more important and an even bigger deal, so don't let this machine bring you down too much! I do do hope you are able to get your tractor fixed properly and all works out well.
