I wonder if this new engine concept would have enough torque for tractor applications?

They claim a 10 to 1 compression ratio but would need a little more for diesel. It wouldn't be easy to hook up injectors on a revolving block!

I've looked at these and many others because I'm curious and it's fun. If a truly better engine is ever built, the manufacturers will beat a path to their door. The sad fact is, there are no paths being beaten,,, especially right now with the crazy fuel prices.

I saw 1 very interesting design with a rotating cylinder with ports acting as valves. Smaller, simpler, lighter. But is it durable and economical? I doubt it!

Unfortunately, the ubiquitous 4 stroke cycle engines will be hung around our necks for many years to come.

Interesting. Both of these companies are in British Columbia! I know there is a big electric vehicle/battery/fuel cell company up there too!

Having spent my high school (er, I mean secondary school) years up there, I'm not sure exactly what the draw is for engine companies, other than that it is a beautiful place to live!
