Tractor
2011 DK50SE Cab
Hi All.

Been lurking for some time, this forum has helped us decide on purchasing a Kioti. Thanks to those who post here, it really helped out a lot in pulling the trigger.

Tractor is a 2011 DK50SE cab hydro trans one set of rear remotes. Pic is still at the dealer, have to make time to pick it up.

$29,700 plus tax. This one is 500km away, closest dealer was about 140km away and wanted $39k for the same tractor not in stock. Another was about 250km away in the $32k range for DK45SE Cab hyd, but still far enough away that it wasn't worth paying quite a bit more than this 50. Will have to do service work and any small warranty stuff ourselves if it arises and load it on the trailer if its something big comes up. Feel comfortable with the community on here that we can get through any problems that arise. The dealer, although far away, seems pretty good to deal with.

I own and run a trout farm with my wife (and 4yr old son), and my folks. Tractor is mainly for pops. He has put in a lot of years of hard work so figured he deserved the heat and air! Our acreage is small (16ac) but we have 3/4 mile of driveway to maintain (property is shaped like an axe, with a long drive), some bush, three ponds, and about 6 acres that will be rough cut mowed, and all those little things that have been left alone with no equipment to do it - property has really deteriorated in some areas so looking forward to cleaning things up. We also have some trenching job opportunities for customers now and then so a subframe hoe is also in the works for that as well as some projects around the farm. No mower purchased yet, will wait til spring.

We also have a Fisher Vplow for our truck that we may customize a frame mount for. Seems pretty bulky to mount on a quick attach plate for the loader, don't want to damage anything - but its not totally out of the question yet. Have read some threads on here where folks are running the blade on the loader so still undecided on that.

Will post more pics once the tractor gets home.

Congratulations. Great tractor and price.

My dealer is about 300 miles away too. In five years i've managed to do all the service on my DK40 with telephonic assistance from the dealer and the UPS truck. I'm sure you'll do fine too.

500km away? Wow. That's dedication for a great deal. Glad I didn't have to go that far! Enjoy the trip and enjoy your new tractor!

Thanks all.

500km seems like a lot but i'm used to driving quite a bit with our business and also used to live in Fort Nelson BC which was about 400km from the next town of any size so a 4-5 hour drive is just a morning...

I don't have any experience with hydraulics but my dad has a fair bit and hes done a fair bit of wrench turning in his day. I've dropped a tranny or two and done the usual stuff on vehicles so between the two of us we should do just fine. Going to order the service and parts manuals as well.

Going to order the service and parts manuals as well.

Smart move. The service manual in particular is very well written and illustrated for the DK series. One of the nicest I've ever seen and written for the DIY crowd.

Its finally home!

My pops had a blast digging up a dirt pile that had been sitting for a few years (no equipment to do anything with it until now!)

I spent a few minutes in it but he's put in more time around here and deserves the most time to play - we have a lot of cleanup jobs waiting, i'm sure the list will only get longer.

Wallenstein GX920 backhoe with subframe is ordered and should be here in about two weeks. Have a line on a used 7' Land Pride rear blade for $300 so hopefully can pick that up before it sells to someone else. Rough cut mower will be purchased next spring. No more money to spend on this thing right now, but i can see how its hard not to end up with a pile of implements in short order!

Nice surprise too, i thought there was only one set of rear remotes but there is two, and they also threw in two hats! Woot woot!
