The B7800 can be thought of as the luxury version of the B7610. It has the same FEL lift capacity & hydraulic pump capacity as the B7610.

I don't think this is correct and wonder if Vic is confusing the B7800 with the B2630. The B2630 is essentially the luxury version of the 7610 but the B7800 is legitimately a slightly bigger tractor with more HP and a higher FEL lift capacity (402kilos vs 352kilos at mid bucket to full height).

I agree obviously with his conclusion that the B7610 is a perfectly reasonable tractor for Skyout's situation but thought we should correct the impression that the 7800 was just a luxury version of the 7610.

Island Tractor,

Yeah, it was getting late last night & the specs I was looking at were very small print. What I confused was the rear 3 pt. hitch for the FEL. Both have the same 3 PH lift capacity of 480 kilo's....at least what I obtained from their web site. I definitely do not know the Kubota line as well as you guys but the thing I don't understand is why Kubota manufactures a slightly bigger tractor (B7800) that has very little additional capacity when compared to the B7610. The B7800 FEL lift capacity advantage you stated is a paltry 110 lbs more. That's pathetic. I think it's more of a marketing ploy to first time buyers....they think they are getting more tractor because it is bigger when the specs indicate otherwise. Why pay $3,000 more for the B7800 when you essentially (slightly smaller) have the same tractor in the B7610. That's why I thought maybe the difference's were more ergonomic but if that's not the case & I was to select, I would go with the B7610 or go up the next class size larger in the Kubota line. (L series tractors).

Thanks everyone for the great info......Once my land is cleared, I plan on moving logs (we heat with wood) and cordwood. I also build furniture, so I need to move around rough lumber that is air drying every now and then. There are a lot of other projects that I have in mind... digging out a small pond, clearing out garden spaces, adding another access road into the back of the property. I am sure there will be a million uses for it. I am so excited about getting this thing I may just sleep in the bucket the first couple of nights!...:D
I made arrangements to rent one for next weekend. That way I can try it out, and the dealer said he would deduct the cost of the rental fromn the cost of the tractor for me. The only problem is that the only one in the B Series they have available for rent is the B3030. (30hp?) similar in size to the 7800 apparently. I will give it a try and then decide....I am leaning torwards the ideas I have heard here about getting the smaller one and buying an implement for it....I like that. I need something with forks on it like a pallet jack for moving rough lumber around.....so thats an idea. I just need to check on some prices.

Thanks everyone for the input!!!

It may be too early to be talking about implements in detail but there are several reasonable options for adding forks to a tractor. Cheapest and fine for moving lumber would be clamp on forks which you can get for about $300-400. A step up would be to get a quick attach adapter (?Kubota vs universal) and then add real forks ($600 up).

I tried out both and I decided on the b7800! I wonder how many guys have wished they bought a smaller tractor:D

All the ones who wished for additional implements rather than horsepower they didn't really need.:D :D

When it comes right down to buying a tractor try out the ones you like and go with your gut feeling. All I know is that there are lots of choices. The 7610 is a nice tractor and I'm sure you would love it!
