The tractor man cometh...and, he delivereth.

Absolutely outstanding replies- I can't thank you enough for all the great advice and information. My wife even enjoyed the information, especially one of the 'don'ts. I'm sure you can guess which. :D

Now, what to do first? If it was the 4th of July, I just might have to drive it in our little Independence Day parade. Since it is not...let's see, there is the landscaping around the house that I started last year and concluded pretty quickly that I was too old for just a shovel, pick axe, heavy lifting, etc; there is the rock digging, transporting and wall stacking to be done; clearing trees, digging stumps, and chipping with the new Wallenstein BX42; or, building multiple raised planting beds (6"x6" rough hemlock beams into 4'x8' planters) and filling it with loam using the new bucket loader. It's a good thing I have a brand new workhorse sitting in the drive or I would need a nap just thinking about how much more work that would be without it.

Do - take lots of pictures to post here.
Do - operate slowly until you learn how it behaves
Do - tackle the rough jobs first (digging stumps) before the delicate stuff (raised beds).
Don't - scratch the paint (even on the bucket!) :D

Looks like a great rig!

Some will laugh but it makes a difference. Wax your tractor when it is new and wash and wax every once in a while. Mine loves to be rubbed but I usually use a spray on wax.

Don't let it sleep with a green tractor - the result of green and orange is weird. Nothing wrong with a green tractor at all If you like that sort of thing. LOL

May have already been stated......BUT never and I mean NEVER work at night unless you have PLENTY of light and that usually means more then just he standard headlights that come on the machine. Mount additional lights and/or use external floods to illuminate the area. Light from only one direction tends to cast shadows and produce optical illusions, or just plain doesnt produce enough light to see well......Good luck!! : )

No advice, but great tractor pics (congrats!) and a beautiful home/yard.

Well I am too late to the party to add anything useful. Great looking tractor and a great looking place..Just be careful, and enjoy your new tractor! Check back in with your progress, and if you have any questions.

Don't make it sleep outside without a roof to keep the sun and rain off!!

G'day Wile E, I see that you went ahead with the purchase after your previous thread. Congrats.

My additional advice would be to mount a quick-release fire extinguisher on the ROPS. An inexpensive but good one from an auto-parts store. Don't put it off as one of those things you'll get around to, either. It's better to have it and not need it than the other way around.

Stay safe. Pause and think about what you're about to do with your rig, then do it.

Retorque your loader bolts on wheels periodically.

Don't forget to keep it greased.
