If someone has not already told you, the easiest way to learn to back a trailer is to put you hand on the bottom of the steering wheel. Then if you want the trailer to go to the left, move your hand (turn the steering wheel) to the left. If you want the trailer to turn to the right, move your hand to the right. Best to start with the vehicle and trailer lined up straight, go slow, and don't oversteer.

I heard that a good way to learn is to back up (by hand) one of those little red wagons your kids have. similar principle...
I'm getting better at it myself, I'm going to try your advice next time the trailer is on...
