Protesters, federal officers clash outside Portland’s courthouse Thursday

The Mark O. Hatfield federal courthouse in downtown Portland became the seen of a violent clash between federal officers and about 50 protesters Thursday night.

And that’s one of the few instances where there was a federal connection to BLM rioters. But it’s Portland, so yeah.

Many of those BLM protesters who committed crimes were indeed prosecuted in state courts. The J6 criminals are prosecuted in federal courts. Different jurisdictions. Did you expect BLM vandals and arsonists to be prosecuted in federal court for committing state level crimes? And both groups committed criminal acts and should be prosecuted. One doesn’t justify the other. That sort of argument is called deflection.

Last time I looked criminal trespas on a federal property was a federal crime and in Portland the BLM protesters entered a federal courthouse and set it on fire as I recall, yet those guys were out on the street and not even charged but that is deflection for you.

Seems to me like breaking into a federal building to change an election while chanting about hanging the vice president because he didn't do what you wanted, isn't very peaceful. But what about those BLM guys isn't a valid argument.

Nope was not OK with it but it also has not escaped my notice that the response is political and one sided, what the j6 idiots did was criminal but no more so than the blm idiots yet the response was drastically different

You are correct. And think about all of the J6 people who aren’t being charged. The Portland people who committed vandalism and arson should be charged. But most of the crimes committed by those protesters were state and local crimes. Regardless everyone who committed vandalism and violence need to be prosecuted by whatever jurisdiction applies. I’m done with this discussion.

OK fine by me, and you are correct the BLM criminals should have been charged BUT WERE NOT, and no one from j6 should have been held without bail
