New Tractor

Just wanted to echo my thanks for all the folks who post here. Got a 3000DT last week and the only way I knew it was a good deal was from what I had seen here. I learned how to drive on a JD when I was 14 and it took me 30 years to get back on another tractor, but I made it. Oh yeah, I had momma mowing yesterday! tugokc I hope you are enjoying yours as much as I am. I know we have the same tractor. I have used old farm tractors for a long time. It's nice to have a tractor that everything works. It's been a month and I invent things to do with it. We were terribly dry till yesterday. I've gotten 3" of rain to date. May even have to mow the pasture in a few days! I take it, you are from the Oklahoma City area. I live across the line west of you near Pampa. Bob

I also have an L3000DT that is just a couple of weeks short of it's first birthday, only 80 hours on the clock so far. It is a real nice tractor, it replaced an old 8N I've had for 20 years which still runs pretty good.

4WD, a few more gear choices, and power steering make me wonder how I got along without them.

I don't know if it is a good thing to let <font color=blue> Momma </font color=blue> spend too much time in the seat. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

i, also, am a new owner (delivery next week!). . .
well, my intentions were to bargain for a great deal on a B2410. when finding that the salesman could sell the B2410, with R4s, 4' box blade, 4' rotary cutter for $12, 255 (which is a good deal from the research i have been doing. . .at length), i began asking about the L3000DT. i had decided (before arriving at the dealership) that i wanted the B2410 b/c of the HP over the 7500 but was not excited about the price. the salesman new i could get a better deal (b/c i told him) at another dealership. however, after driving the 2410's HST (or HSD?) i was not too impressed (i guess i would rather "know" what gear is selected for the job?). salesman proceeded to point out "cruise control". . .impressive. . .but not necessary for my needs. when i looked at the undercarriage of the 2410 i was discouraged to see lines, cabes, rods, etc. . .i knew i was going to be driving in some rough brush, etc and did not want to risk pulling one of those lose. . .i must say, the high back seat is a plus. well, i have driven the L3000DT before and felt it would be too much tractor (4 years from now when only needed for light dirt work and mowing/brush hogging). i wanted the 2410 b/c of small size and live PTO. . .after working some figures i feel i got a GREAT DEAL. . .see if you agree? ? ?

drpepper, i know pampa well, went to school in Abilene and my wife is from Midland. Got a bunch of friends in Amarillo. Great deal rmilho! and thanks all. Gotta go move some earth so they can put my barn up.

oh. . .i am looking at the actual buyer's agreement and see that i paid $12,600.00 for the L3000DT, 5' rotary cutter, 5' box blade, R4 tires, front weight bracket(i just found out some dealers charge for this thing), delivery, and TAX. . .
i just wanted to be accurate as i know you will quote these numbers to the dealer i purchased my Kubota from. . .
he was selling the tractor and above implements for $12,000.00 without the R4s. Then he threw in the R4s for $550. . .so, you can see, he still cut me a deal. . .
