Tractor
Branson 3510i w/FEL
OK I have been to the Kubota dealer last weekend and will be going to a combination Kioti, Branson dealer this weekend. I have the good fortune of having at least three of each kind of dealers within 30 minutes or so from home. I will be doing a lot of dirtwork and small tree pulling etc. so want a heavier tractor. My main question is, dealer aside. are both the Branson and Kioti a quality brand of tractor in your opinon? A lot of my friends own Kubota and I have no concerns there. But whenever I mention Kioti or Branson, people haven't heard of them. I will be looking at the CK 30 or Branson 2910. I'm curious why the Branson is so much heavier. Do they use cheaper metal so they have to beef it up or...Here is a link to one of my local dealers who explains the Branson's weight.

My 2001 Kioti DK 35 has been problem free so far ( 600 hours).
I feel the fit/finish/quality and features of my DK 35 is very good.
I look forward to many, many more years from my Kioti.

Thanks, Vince. I am quite sure I will like what I see when I go to look at the Branson and Kioti. It's just that I had some slight concerns about quality just because the brands aren't as well known as John Deere and Kubota. That certainly doesn't mean they arent't just as good. We had a local dealer here who used to sell Rhino's /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif They had a little bit of a quality problem so I just wanted to make sure.

Don't know if the lesser known brands use "cheaper metal", but I do believe their technology is older than Kubota's. As technology advances, tractor engineers are able to design out excess weight. Better use of advanced metallurgy is probably used by the lighter, more sophisticated tractors.

A better engineered and lighter tractor has the benefit of meeting the needs of customers who require a less massive tractor, and those who require more mass because weight can be added where needed. A heavy tractor is always heavy.

As a former engineer, just my 2 cents.

Well I don't agree. Weight means traction. Weight = force. Lighter tractors are cheaper to manufacture.

I drove both models, I don't think quality is an issue with either tractor. Personally, I was looking for the weight for my needs. Go check them out, I know I was impressed with Kioti enough to buy one.

ANy of these tractor will do the work for you. Get a list together on what your buying the tractor for and list by importance. Mowing is big on my list, a heavier tractor is not a good thing for me. ALso check each dealer, how is there service, how long have they been in service and were is the next closest dealer Kubota, branson ect.

Hello Yale, dont know alot about the Branson, they looked well made from what i saw. Since your looking for a heavier tractor, You will like the Kioti Ck30 very much.. Its a very strong, well made tractor. Its as good as there is in the 30hp range. Good luck

Don'r forget , at one time Kubota was the new kid on the block. From what i have seen Kioti seems to be well made, and id there is a dealer nearby check out the farmtrac units , the are quite heavy.

Well, I called three local Branson dealers and got quotes of 16,700 from two and 17295 from the other, they didn't want to come down in price if I paid cash. Now I have to check Kioti prices.

2510I with series 40 loader and R-4 tires.
