Yes, but that is apples and fish. You can put your pistol away and not carry it. Not like you can throw brakes on your trailer when you hit the border.

Think about it this way. If I have a car registered and inspected, 100% legal in WV, and take a vacation to California, do I suddenly have to get my car smogged to visit there? No, it's just not reasonable. If the vehicle is legal to operate where it is licensed and inspected, it will be legal in all 50 states when traveling, moving there would be another story. Just like when I had my pop-up camper. In Texas, it did not have to have brakes. But, I could travel all over the country, legally. When I moved to WV, to legally register it, I had to put brakes on it.

Another way to look at it, if I lived in CA, I would have to get their different trailer endorsement to pull my 5th wheel. But, on my WV license, I can legally drive it there without that, because it's legal where I live and it's registered.

Now, I have no clue how any of this applies to doubles, and I am assuming private, nothing commercial. BUT, in the RV world, I know lots of people who pull doubles all over the place without issue.

Thought I would throw this in. I made running boards for my Dodge, removed the old ones ( not wheel to wheel) in the tool box to much. I lowered them 1 1/2" and stuck them out from the truck more and rino lined. WOW what a difference. Also installed marker lights in them.

I would check on that. Think about it... You must obey the laws of the state. Like in Indiana we are allowed to carry guns concealed or out in the open. If traveling state to state you must obey the lesser of two laws.

I've always thought that way. If my state says its legal for me to keep a gun in my car (in Louisiana your car is an extension of your home so you can keep a concealed gun in your car WITH OUT a permit . . . God i live in a great state) any way if my state allows it than i should have that right in other states. It's just like Gay marriage. . . if they allow it in Ca. NY or any other state all the other states will have to honor it.

Laws from state to state lack consistency; and thinking that one state has to or will honor what your state requires, can get you in trouble quickly. Two areas that I want to touch on: 1) Reciprocity: In most states you will experience reciprocity (honoring of each others laws) when it comes to Driver's Licenses and Registration; anything outside of those two areas are fair game. 2) Non-Resident Compact: (All states are members except Michigan, Wisconsin, California, Montana, Oregon, and Alaska. However not being a member does not mean you will not have your license suspended if you reside in one of these states) The Non-Resident Violator Compact (NRVC) is an interstate compact used by 45 states in the USA to process traffic citations across state borders. Motorists cited for violations in a state that is not a member of the NRVC must post bail before being allowed to proceed. When a motorist is cited in another member state and chooses not to respond to the ticket (such as not paying it), the other state notifies the driver's home state and the home state will suspend the driver's license until the driver takes care of the matter in the other state. There are certain offenses where the Non-Resident Violator Compact does not apply. Those offenses are registration, weight limit, and parking. Some states will not take action on offenses like vehicle equipment and vehicle inspection if their driver has ignored an out of state citation of those offenses. Out of state moving violations are the focus of the compact.
In Summary, there is a lack of consistency when it comes to traffic laws from state to state. In Kansas, we honor other state's driver's license, registration, and window tint laws.
