i just rebuilt my dump cyllinders on my loader ..with this boards help.... but now it will leak down quicker than ever ,,,i was told it was the valve it self...has anyone ever rebuilt one of these...it is a massy 1525 loader on a 1540 tractor...thanks again for your help bruce

First off, have you been using it after the rebuild? If not, there could still be air left in the cylinders. To get it out, you need to fully extend them and HOLD the lever extending them more for a count of 5. Then retract fully and HOLD the lever retracted for 5 seconds. Repeat that cycle 5 times and it will be fully bled out.

If it is still drooping, double check for any leaks and if you don't find any, it's probably the control valve. It may be the kind with o-ring seals. Easy and cheap to replace them. Or it could be a worn spool and cylinder. You will probably have to replace the valve if that's the case. I would be VERY suprised if that was the case as they normally last a LOT longer!

Lift the loader off the ground,. raise bucket to mid position and unplug both the couplers for the dump/curl circuit. If it still leaks down its a ram problem,.. if it doesn't its a valve problem.

Take them both back apart. It sounds like you may have assembled backwards, pinched/tore a seal, etc. If all that was good, you may have wrong seals or there is a scratch in the cylinder that is allowing flow.

Bruce, you probably tore a piston seal during assembly. This is common. Some piston seals are a real pain to install without tearing them up. Get new seal kits, disassemble, and post pics of the old piston seals so that I can see what style they are. I can then advise you on the proper assembly procedure. Shoot me a pm when you post as I don't check in as often as I used to.
Also, IMHO, if you need this piece of equipment to make a living, I would bring the cylinders to a shop, get them done once, get them done right. I pressure test every rebuilt cylinder for 15 minutes to make sure everything is okay. Any good shop out there will do the same.
