"" It always amazes me that some people never let their ignorance get in the way of what they are trying to say! ""

Apparently you don't!! Just what are you trying to say??? How does my helpful response to Rimmer effect you???

Does your handle 'Junkman' refer to the fact that most of your replies consist of little more than just 'Trash Talk', because you obviously do not possess any 'logical opinions' ??!!?? If you have nothing enlightening, or at least positive, to add at a thread, I suggest that you keep your Trash Talk to yourself!!!!

Guys: how about the synthetic Rotella diesel oil at Wally world for $12.84 a gallon. No doubt the Amsol stuff is superior, but at $8.35 plus shipping for a guart, I will just change my oil a little more often and hope for the best.

"" I will just change my oil a little more often and hope for the best. ""

You didn't mention what sort of diesel vehicle or equipment you have, but consider this:

Look at the cost of the vehicle.
Look at the cost of insurance.
Look at the annual miles or hours you use it.
Look at the annual cost of fuel.
Determine your annual operating cost.

If you never changed the oil, how much money would that save?

If you used the best most expensive oil and changed it on a regular basis, how much would that cost?

Most likely the additional annual cost is negligible compared to the total cost of operation.

Obviously he has, because I certainly see no evidence of any knowledge, or useful information, being disseminated in this thread!! Please show me just where his vast knowledge is demonstrated in his post:

"" Your statement .... "Expert on nothing, but with logical opinions about everything!!"

Junkman

If you, or he, have knowledge and recomendations concerning 'New Truck Mobil 1for diesel/gasoline', please post them!
However, you, and he, apparently need to share my admonishment: "If you have nothing enlightening, or at least positive, to add at a thread, I suggest that you keep your Trash Talk to yourself!!!!"

Fourteen, I know Amsoil has some excellent products as does Redline. Unfortunatly they are sold in odd ways. I don't want to buy from the computer--maybe some day I will change my mind.
As to your statement that Amsoil is better than Mobil 1--well--you think what you want /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif. I know Amsoil has a one of those Gehads (sp?-beats me) going on against Mobil 1 for a long time. They think they are better, OK, I think Mobil 1 is better or at least as good. Each product has some strengths and weaknesses. I do believe that Amsoil is better suited to long drain intervals, however, don't over road trucks run 100,000 miles or some such nonsense with the Delvac 1?
Further, while Amsoil has paid for or created in house testing that shows it is better than Mobil 1, I have seen other tests over the years that show different. In any case, since both of these fine products are far superior to dino oil, arguing about that last increment of "better than" maybe a bit esoteric /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
I feel confident that the new Mobil 1 product is an excellent choice and soon will have the typical sales and rebates as Mobil has always offered. If you like Amsoil use it, I am going to use the 1, I don't have to buy a whole truckload, I can stop at the AutoZone on the way to work /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.
This thread was for Mobil 1, not another Amsoil better than Mobil 1 rant, such as cheapest price, where found etc etc. Thanks for the info on Amsoil but no thanks. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif J

Your response to the question isn't directed toward the title of the thread, but more a endorsement advertisement for Amsoil products.
Your response to TresCrow is nothing more than a sarcastic demeaning rant that is an insult to the intelligence of the entire membership of the TBN. I won't lower myself to your level by demeaning others, as you have so aptly done to anyone that has an opinion that differs from yours. If you like Amsoil, then use it. If you think that it is a superior product and want to extol its attributes, then start a thread telling such, however this thread is about Mobil 1.... not Amsoil.

I quoted your own words in your profile, nothing more, however I suggest that you change the word "logical" with "biased"... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif "Expert on nothing, but with logical opinions about everything!!" If you consider your own bio "Trash Talk", that is fine with me and probably the only thing that you and I will agree on in this thread. I would strongly suggest that you not throw stones even if you think as an Amsoil user that you are better than the rest of us.
If you choose to "admonish" someone, you might be more respected if you were to do it in a PM rather than a post where you show your bias and ignorance! One last thing that I would like to mention, " recomendations" is correctly spelled with 2 m's... (recommendations) .....
Since you have your hand raised, you may now leave the forum and go sit in a corner by yourself./forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

"" This thread was for Mobil 1 ""

Rimmer stated that he has "been looking for a diesel-rated synthetic without any success so far".

I answered by showing him where he could find four! You added a fifth. It is his decision, but now he knows that there are at least five synthetic oils for diesels to choose from!! I don't see any harm in that!
