I don't have any marks on my trailer for the tongue weight . . .
As for my energy rings, I like glazed.
Have you considered painting a white stripe on the center of mass of each of your horses? You could then line the horses up more accurately

Just a word of caution, don't try to paint a stripe to indicate the center of mass on your M-I-L before you load her onto the trailer. They get downright unruley when you try to slather a paint stripe on them. And if it is a yellow stripe you paint on a M-I-L (or Dargo's 400# wife) it just confuses the drivers behind you because they can't figure out what lane to drive on

Holy Cow.. can ya tell we are doing inventory and I don't have to count? The funny thing is that just over two hours ago my MIL and FIL were sitting in my office.... I could go home and mark her tonight... problem is the FIL = Army LTC Ret. Green Beret I don't stand a chance.. even if he is 65

Okay, okay, if you all must know; I have center of weight stripes painted on my wife and MIL. Even when I made my MIL ride in the back of the 1/2 ton trucks I had and, therefore, kept the weight perfectly balanced, I completely wore out my trucks in half their normal time. I guess I didn't figure the "fudge factor" in for the manufacturers inflating the towing and GCVW ratings to sell more trucks. Their engineers and guys with crystal balls up in their glass towers figured that nobody really runs their trucks with the gas pedal to the floor 100% of the time nor uses 100% of their inflated ratings 100% of the time.

So, do I quit providing my MIL with power rings or do I have to dump my 1 ton dually and move to a Chevy Luv pickup (you know, that would give me more capacity since it weighs so much less)? Decisions, decisions... You know, I was just getting used to the smell of melting rubber from my tires getting hot from the loads (even though I was keeping them at the max 35 psi per tire and I ran them across the scales each time I left my driveway and each tire was 1 pound under the 1850 maximum load rating per tire). Should I chance buying less power rings or go for the Chevy Luv? My moped was doing fine with the gooseneck trailer pictured, but Bob said that only wimps used mopeds; Bob has a scooter. What is a guy to do?

The second picture is the new bucket I have on the way for my new B3030. Since it is so light compared to other tractors, I figured I'd plenty safe with the slightly larger bucket. ;)

In other words, treat the machinery like you should treat your mate:

Respect its limits. Don't abuse it. Don't ask it to do more than its intended to do. Use it to its maximum only rarely so it will be happier and last longer. And last but not least, be nice to it often. ;)

And most importantly when it gets old and starts to sag trade it in on a newer
model.

I used to tow with a Z71. Now I tow with a 2500hd diesel, try it once you will never go back.

I only have one but I don't want to lose half my stuff... and I know it would be the nice half! To make things worse... a lot of people think my wife IS my nice half... I'd REALLY be in the dumper then

Well, since everyone is striping their MIL's and wives I guess it's only fair I paint my horses too. And since I can't find a Yugo and my moped is too wimpy, guess I'd better head to the Honda dealer for a super duper scooter. Any particular model you recommend? Probably whichever has the smallest engine displacement would be a good rule of thumb.

Right now my flatbed is loaded with the aluminum roof from my barn that looks like Godzilla stepped on it during a bad storm last week. Maybe I'll paint white stripes on that too just to confuse the scrap yard tomorrow. Hmm, not sure my truck can tow that either, better hook it up to my unicycle just to be on the safe side. The downside to using the unicycle though is that I would be getting exercise, which is certain to keep my butt from getting bigger.

*sigh* what is a woman to do:confused:

There are apparently a lot of folks around here who used to paint their black cats, too. Trouble is the cats didn't like it and ran off. Then they started to reproduce and now there's a whole lot of little furry critters with white stripes on their backs. Smell some, too. Don't know what they've been eatin'.
