New TYM on the way!

Cool! Glad to see you're getin' her dirty. You look like you're having fun. Quite impressive in the mud, there. Are your're tires loaded?

Make sure you get that cruise fixed. It is outstanding for relieving fatique for any long-run chores, like bush-hogging, plowing, etc. where you are holding the HST pedal steady for long periods of time.

I'm not sure how cruise works on the TYM. On my JD it's purely mechanical - little latch that grabs and hold the hst pedal in position. But, if I barely touch the HST pedal, or the brakes, it disengages - doesn't take much movement at all of the HST.

Good luck with the drainage. Looks like quite the job!

Glad to see your enjoying your new toy (I am mean tool). The cruise control works with an electro magnet next to the hydro pedal. When you turn it on it sucks the pedal up against the magnet. If you touch the brake it releases the magnet. There should be an adjustment screw on the backside of the magnet. It sounds like it needs to be turned slightly to bring the magnet closer to the pedal. Sorry you had a problem but I am sure you dealer will be glad to take care of it.
Happy Tractoring

Oh yes, she will have to get used to getting a little muddy and dirty if she’s going to live here. I have to admit though; I did rinse her off before I put her away for the night. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Her next task is going to be schlepping around a tri-axle worth of mulch (as soon as it quits freaking raining for more than 3 hours at a time). We have several banks that are in desperate need of re-mulching.

I figured the cruise had to be a magnetic or electric-hydro of some type because it’s only a rocker panel switch, no levers or anything.

That drainage has been a pain in my rear for the last 5 years, so I’m glad to finally get it taken care of. I couldn’t even get my push mower in the one part of the yard for the last 2 years. Only about a 100’X30’ area, but I’ve had to keep it cut down with nothing but my push weed whacker. I love that thing…..6.75 horses of weed whacker……whew!

That should be almost the last of it now. We started the project before I got the TYM. I couldn’t afford a few thousand more to own a TLB so I rented a mini-ex and we put in 4 box drains, and trenched a little over 400’ of perf’d drain pipe buried in 2B stone. It was so wet we had to have the mini-ex on two 4X8 sheets of ¾” plywood the whole time. Had to get a 60lb jackhammer and bust a trench through the mother of all rock shelves too. The top part where it's flat is dry as a bone now, but there is one more spring on the hill, half way down where we had already switched to solid pipe. I’m just gonna dig up a little 10’ section and put 1 small yard drain hooked to perf pipe. I’m going to get a middle buster at some point and use the TYM to take the pipe through another 100’ or so of softer soil, out to the creek and get the spring water completely off my property. Between that and the little bit of pipe you see in the picture at the bottom of the hill, I think it will be all over for the wet spots. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Yeah, the back tires are loaded. I’m actually more tipped in on the other side of the tractor than you can tell in the picture. It’s over the front axle on that side. I went in the whole way and was pretty impressed at how far I could go before having to use the bucket to get out. Considering I even had the mini-ex stuck in there for a while a few weeks earlier, it did well. My wife kept yelling be careful honey, it’s sinking deep in the mud and I would yell, JUST TAKE THE PICTURE! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Chipperman:

Hey thanks for the help. If it's that simple I may just crawl under and do it myself. If it were something major, I would call the dealer, but for something petty like this I'll more than likely just wait for the first service if it isn't something that I can take care of in a few minutes.

So you work for TYM? I thought everyone was in Harrisburg? Do you know when the TYM rear finish mowers will be in, or if they are already? Do the dealers have the brochures yet or can I download them somewhere? Thanks again.....I think you guys put together a winner here.

I'd love to have a wet spot like that. I'd turn it into a pond in a heart beat. Of course, these things seldom occur in the "right" locations on our properties.

Love that little TYM. Wish I had one next to my Kioti and Deere. Don't need it, but wish I had it anyway. Anyway, enjoy. Stay safe.
