Well, the 7500 4x4 is back and in service. Truck would not start. Turns out 2 of the 3 batteries I installed just 10 months ago were defective!! I was given free replacements and decided to add a new 3rd battery as well.
Still working the bugs out on several electrical gremlins. One is headlights not working. Other is a parking light on the front fender not working.
Fixed those 2 this morning. Previous owner mounted a switch on the dash. I didn’t know what the switch was for (no label). My headlights were not working. After exhaustively trying to track down the issue, here it was the unlabeled switch

Turns out the switch is used to turn headlights “off” and the old plow lights “on”. OK, now I’m done clanging my head off the wall trying to fix that one.
The parking light was a wire that was chewed about 90% through. There was maybe one corroded strand left. Fairly easy fix.
This truck was equipped with mirror heat on all 4 mirror heads. It doesn’t work. That’s my next electrical gremlin.
Bad pictures, but here it is as of now. I really need a front grill and 4 new steel wheels.
Ordering tow hooks and mirror mount beacons.
Truck build sheet says 8.25 x 22.5 wheel. Looks like a 9” wheel to me. Maybe it’s the rust patina throwing me off….
Truck is going to look weird with a “no-sale” green cab, faded black dump bed and new white wheels. I think that’s why the previous owner painted wheels black??
