I have another idea for a project. I mentioned awhile back on this forum that I had bought a hydraulic pump that wouldn't work with my backhoe.
Because it required more engine horsepower than my 17 HP engine could put out. I got it off ebay really cheap.
So anyway I have come up with a project that I can use it on.
I plan on building a trailer mounted hydraulic water well drilling rig. I have an old Mazda b2000 4 cylinder engine sitting around that I could power the pump with and a 20 gallon electric water heater tank that I could use for a hydraulic tank.
All I would need to build it is a some steel tubing, hydraulic motor, water swivel,, a 2 spool valve some hoses etc and I'd be in business.
I wanna build this because I would like to put a new and deeper water well closer to my power pole. My current old well is about 50 or 60 feet from the power pole.
Plus the well is in a pit and the casing is starting to rust out.
The current well is only about 30 feet deep. And I'd like to hopefully go 50 or 60 feet with the new one. Which I'm sure I can do. I don't care how long it takes to drill it as it would be fun for me to do.
I'm not sure when I'll start the project but it probably won't be till at least next summer when I get started on the project. I do plan to take lots of pics along the way and video drilling the well.
I was looking at the
Water Well Drilling Equipment Portable and Hydraulic Drill Rigs Geothermal Drill portable drill rig and the price is $5845.00
I'm sure I can build a much better and stronger hydraulic drill rig that is trailer mounted cheaper than that.
I mean I've already got some of the parts laying around.
When I get started on it. I'll start a new thread.
