New Wood Deck for Landscape Type Trailer

For what it's worth....

The deck I did I used pressure treated wood and pre-drilled the cross members and used carriage bolts to hold the deck down. I drilled the deck up through the bottom through the holes as to match. Later when the decking shrunk some, I got under the trailer and tightened the bolts up some. It will shrink.

Forget taking out the torx screws without breaking them let alone using them over again.

The last time I did my deck I also used PT lumber, 2x8 and 2x6. The Torx screws will not come out so after tearing off the old wood I used a cutoff wheel and wiped out the screws. As the last poster, I used SS carriage bolts to hold down the new boards. I also put down HD electrical sealing tape over the crossmembers of the metal frame. The new PT wood is very caustic to iron and steel, which is why new frame hangers need to be heavy coated galvanized or SS, as do all the new nails / bolts / screws.
