I just wanted to get some thoughts about my new building. I plan on setting 6 6x6's for a 16x16 shop. Once the post are set I was just going to frame up the bottom of the post with 2x6's and poor concrete for the floor. Has anyone had any experience doing it this way? I have ordered the trusses which only cost $413 not too bad. I will frame up the top of the 6x6's with 2x6's and notch the top of the post and bolt the 2x6's up. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Forgot to mention that I will be using treated post with tar on the end of them.

6-6x6 is not enough if 8' centers.Would take 9 unless you have 16' door.
you might use treated on bottom 2x6.I also poured my floor after it was framed.Double 2x6 on top is probably OK. 2x8 better.Good luck on your shop.Framer
