just curious, what all do you plan to do with your new toy? Looks like you are about to enjoy some seat time soon.

Yes, it is exciting.
Been 17 years since my last new tractor.
I have a few neighborhood driveways I do in the winter. I love blowing snow.
We also have about 2 acres of windfall from last summer I have to clear. Was a strange year. So much water in the ground the trees just fell over. And this year we are looking at a drought. Hardly any moisture this year.
There is an 820A tiller in my garage to be swapped out for a rear mount.

i see a cab in your future!

i have the soft side cab, and even without the heater it's great
to not have the wind in your face.

just wondering . . .

just to the left of the hours in the hour meter display there is sometimes a blinking icon.

i have read the owner's manual but could not find it.

what does it mean?

Congrats of your new green toy. Don't know if this is relevant but on my X500 the icon on the left side of the instrument panel is the oil pressure indicator.

In my manual it says "The hour meter is counting time if the decimal point is blinking." This is like the blind leading the blind since I just bought the X500 yesterday.

Welcome to TBN scott,
I assume everything is clean and lightly greased on the splines. The first thing I check is to make sure the shaft telescopes smoothly. Then try to push the coupler on a little moving the belt to rotate the shaft to align the splines, once aligned I pull the collar back and push it on until the collar locks back in place. So far I haven't had to do any thing special such as jacking it up or reaching from behind the tractor.

It can be kind of a pain on my x748 also. I do what Steve said, except I put the PTO selector on "rear" so the mid PTO free wheels...This makes a HUGE difference, it just slips right on. I don't know if you have the rear PTO option or not.

Congrats on new x728. With the 1026r and 60" drive over deck ,did not get auto conn MMM . I had put some light grease on the collar, on the splines of shaft and gear and was still having problem ,oh had the PTO set to the rear.
Finally after 15-30 min of getting madder and madder decided to try something else , sprayed some WD40 on splines ,slides on with no trouble . Have been spraying WD40 now every time ,works first time every time. Light grease so far hasn't helped , maybe with more usage it will get easy, or order the auto connect like I did last week.
