I forgot to add. When looking on CL you have to be in the right place, right time.
Usually that's not the case for me. I had been looking for a BH, Flail, box blade, and PHD for a few years on CL without luck. I was almost going to buy a new box blade and PHD at TSC then order a new BH online. I had been hesitant due to new price. Then I found them all on CL within 3 months of each other and all within 20 miles of my house.

Just did a quick search on the local CL. At present there are four - 6' brush hogs ( and many other 4'-15'ers) and 5 flail mowers listed.

Does your flail see much brush use? By that i mean do you use it in place of a brush hog? I know it depends on the flail istelf but just curious. If I don't need a 9 foot long behemoth hanging off the back i'd prefer not to.

I imagine the tractor has enough power for a 7 foot brush hog in lighter stuff. I haven't ruled out a tow behind either

I only bought my 66" wide flail last year, replaced the bad bearings and painted it. I've only used it a couple times and no I wouldn't use it as a brush hog. The flail is good for tall stuff in the field but its not a brush hog. I had a brush hog years ago and it would take out small trees. I think the largest I did was 1 to 1 1/2" diameter. I'd stick to a 6' hog for brush like that.
