eBay/Craigslist New Yanmars on Ebay!

Check it out, this guy has two 2005 Yanmars on ebay. Sure do look alot like the ones made twenty years ago! Item #: 250042076838 & 250042074371.

Sorta makes you wonder how someone who never sold anything on ebay before can suddenly be selling 2 "new" Yanmars. They seem to have gotten all their feedback from buying nickle and dime items. And their user id was blueberrykiwi479 until a couple of days ago when they suddenly changed it to topcat_equipment and started selling Yanmars.

People like this need to learn that there are savvy folks out there that know this is baloney. I sent the seller a question asking if he is willing to provide a notarized statement or other proof that this is a 2005 model year tractor. Suggest others consider doing the same..........maybe he'll get the picture if he gets several dozen such messages.

2210 is 28-29 years old. Nothing wrong with that, but PLENTY wrong with lying about it.

Another angle is that there are also people out there that have no idea what they are doing either. I have seen people here on TBN that will post a message about becoming a tractor and just a month or two before they were asking questions about buying their first tractor. This is a business where you need some business savvy and you need to know about the product you are selling. I have e-mailed some of these people on ebay claiming to sell a 1990 YM1500 and their response was, "That is what the dealer/wholesaler told me it was". Whether they were trying to cover their own mis-information or they were really told that, I don't know, but I think there are a few that just don't know what they are selling. Either way, you don't want to buy from them.

It's very possible someone hijacked this guys ebay account. So this is far deeper than lying about some yanmars. Its also possible that this guys trying to run a scam himself. i see everyday on ebay. Christmas is near.

All his feedback I looked at was for buying womens clothes.

The Yanmars are probably shown at an auction, considering the large number of people milling around. Maybe this ebayer got conned. I wrote him a note and asked if this was the case.

The Ford tractor and one truck are at the same site, facing the street. It's not clear that the other vehicles for sale were also photographed there. So this could be a scammer using someone else's photos and a stolen ebay id. We'll see....

They have updated the listing. I sent them a message informing them of the situation. They said they bought them at auction and were told they were 2005's. Since they were refurbed (repainted, I guess), they thought they looked new. She thanked me for helping set things straight!

"I am not a cheater, I bought these at an auction last week as 2005 models - all of my paperwork shows 2005, but I am now checking serial numbers to see what I can find out. Sorry"
