New Yanmars

Judging by Yanmar USA site, it looks like they have bought out Cub Cadet to use as their brand, probably later they will drop the Cub Cadet brand name and just use their own.

As my previous post stated, I think that would be a very, very wise move by Yanmar. There is no chance that anyone can convince me that Cub Cadet has been associated with "quality" in the last 35 years or so.

I love Yanmar products. IMHO, they are some of the best made anywhere for any price. Being 100% made by Yanmar would, however, be the only possible way I'd ever buy anything with the Cub Cadet name on it. From mowers I've worked on for friends, I've not seen any worse quality product than Cub Cadet. If it were made by Cub Cadet's normal channel of manufacturing, I'd buy a goat first. If it's made by Yanmar, I could put up with the "this means junk" Cub Cadet colors unless Cub has totally screwed up the parts and service aspect.

Don't hold back here Dargo.....tell us how you really feel. Seriously, I am with you on this one. A few years ago.....the CC name drove me away from buying one of these nice little tractors....even at a very low price. I don't own a Murray lawn mower either. ;) Still....they appear to be well-built machines for many folks. One has to wonder about the marketing plan.

Can ya tell that my dad had a late '60's CC that I tried to break, but couldn't? I figured that uf it broke, I wouldn't have to mow. Fast forward to the early 80's and guess what I bought, thinking "you just can't tear one up!". What a mistake! Just when I could afford it the least, I got a white and yellow piece of excrement. Having no choice but to constantly fix it, I got friends and relatives bring me theirs to fix until I just couldn't take it anymore.

Marketing off of a (past) good name got me good. Obviously being burned that bad still hurts. However, I don't care what color they paint a Yanmar, I'd bet it will be top notch. As I said, I just hope CC doesn't mess up parts and service for them (since parts will eventually be needed).

Just for conversation purposes at one time I read where Yanmar is the largest family owned company in the world.

Interesting how they are not a corporation etc its run by family members a remarkable hierarchy no doubt imho. (I have not verified this info so use at own risk.)

Yes, Yanmar is making a crawler tractor in the US. I have seen several in person here in Oregon but have yet to see one actually working. We have vineyards all over here. They have an option where you can get narrow tracks or wide tracks. The one in the picture is narrow tracks, it is still sitting down at my local Deere dealer. The cab on them is very nice, if they had a loader model I would love to have one. :p:D Third picture is wide tracks.

I thought Yanmar sold their new red tractors in Australia.

they certainly do but you dont see many around. as for the excavators they are everywhere, i have seen so many new ones over the last couple of months due to the end of the financial year i guess. many of the compact tractors are daedongs, mahindras and the like. the larger units are usually that green and yellow mobs :D also i have noticed a far few hitachi excavators as well.
