New YT-3 359 on order

Dad put a deposit down on a 359. Should be a good machine for him. My only fear is he will have a hard time getting in and out of it as he gets older.

I find very comfortable to get in and out of mine. It's actually one of the reasons we chose it. Some of the other tractors had much smaller steps which my wife got her foot stuck in. The Yanmar step was much wider. The cab door opens plenty far and adds hand holds for mounting and dismounting.

It looks easy to get into. I was talking more the climbing aspect. I was suggesting a telehandler or a toolcat as alternatives to a tractor, in part because of the low entry, but the Yanmar was the tractor I suggested.

Tractor showed up today so I could do some mowing and a few other things. The 3rd value in the back and front haven't came in yet and I am still waiting for a few of the implements. A couple of thoughts so far;

1. The transmission is so nice to use when mowing. A/B mode, Cruise, and Anti-Stall makes it so all you have to do is steer and thats about it.
2. The 59 HP grunts a little on the flail mower with brush hammers, but it is a beast.
3. Much more comfortable to operate then the Kubota and JDs I had been renting.

I have a 359 and have been researching flail mowers with brush hammers.
So far I have been looking at used and all the mowers have finish hammers.
