Oops. I'll fix tomorrow

I meant an appropriately 8" long steel bar that stands out from the frame ahead of the steering cylinder

Drove to my neighbors to grab a hay bale. Went really well. But, whew! That instrument cluster is bright at night! A dimmer would be nice.

I'm surprised Yanmar didn't put a dimmer on the dash. Do other makes put dimmers on their instrument clusters? I never really thought about that for a tractor.

I have owned 3 kubotas and none of them had a dimmer for the dash clusters, would be nice thou.

What are the axle housings on the new Yanmar's made of, cast iron or aluminum?

Well, this post was a while back, how do you like your tractor? I am considering a new Yanmar and was was going with either a 235 or going to step up to the 359. But right now, Yanmar has a deal on the 347, $34,600 with the cab so I am thinking that may be enough power for me and my uses. Just curious how you like it five weeks later??

I have had my YT359C for about 3 months and I love it. I have no complaints with the tractor. I only have about 85 Hrs on it though. However, with these machines being so new, the dealer support here in the South is less than ideal. Let me give more detail...I have worked with several dealers in TN, and they are great guys and nice to work with. However, being newer to this equipment they don't know all the answers yet. Even though stock on parts, etc. can be frustrating, I still love the tractor. I knew going into the purchase that I would have to "figure most stuff out myself". I am in a related field for business anyway (2 wheel tractors) and am already used to working on equipment on a regular basis. All that being the case, I would still buy this tractor again without hesitation over all the others I test drove (Kioti, Massey, Kubota, Mahindra). I use the Yanmar tractor for work though. I did not buy it because it "looks cool". Although I think it does. Yanmar tech support has been helpful for the most part. I emailed them a week ago though and have yet to receive a response to my latest question. With the dealer situation the way it is at least here in TN, they should offer parts/fluids for sale online. My closest dealer is about 1.5Hrs away, one way.

The dealer here is also an hour and a half away. However they service a lot of rigs up my way and have a service truck(s) that go out into the field. I have almost no knowledge of tractors. I have worked on my old yanmar and used to build hotrods. But zero knowledge of these rigs. But I am hoping that buying a new tractor under warranty will help. What issue did you have that your waiting fr a response too?

I have had zero mechanical issues with tractor. Well, actually the cab "dome" light does not automatically come on when I open the cab door and the manual says it should. But this has been the case since the day I brought home. When I get a chance I will get it fixed under warranty. Other than that, I have found the tractor manual to be outdated with engine oil filter part #. I had to contact Yanmar (GA) to confirm the correct oil filter part #. The latest question is the manual lists Yanmar TF 500 as the Hydraulic fluid to use. I could find only 1 dealer in TN (3 hours away, 1 way) that stocked their fluid. When I bought it I noticed it was labeled Yanmar TF 500A. So I emailed to ask about that. Still have not heard anything back. I would have used some other similar tractor fluid (Kubota UDT or similar), but one of the Yanmar technical guys said "not using their fluid could void the tractor warranty". I run a 6' Bush-whacker brand 3pt brush cutter, 7' HD box blade and 2800lb capacity pallet fork (quick attach type). Of these most of the hours are using the pallet fork. That Bush-whacker cutter is very nice though. I am impressed with it. I was out mowing about 6' plus (3 year or so) overgrown pasture, lots of saplings well over 6' tall, 2-3" diameter. Trying to "reclaim" it. The tractor and mower did an excellent job. If I was you I would get the extra horsepower on the 359 model. There are some differences between 349 and 359 (although minor), but for example, the 359 achieves the 540 RPM needed for PTO work, at a lower engine RPM than the 347. 2390RPM on the 359 and 2500 and change on the 347. Not a big difference, but I liked the idea of running it a little slower (engine speed). A few of the measurements are different as well, the 359 is listed as 1.5" longer wheelbase and about 150lbs or so heavier. Those numbers for the cab model. Of course the larger engine takes a little more oil, and thus the radiator holds more fluid as well. Battery has more CCA as well to spin the larger engine.
