Newb to bobcat, NEED HELP PLEASE

Hello all,
Just joined and have a question. I rented a bobcat 863 loader and am going to be building a huge RC off road track for my boy and I to run our RC off road trucks on. The cat was dropped off this morning so of course I'm sure it is working just fine. I'm sure my issue is something I'm doing wrong but I have no idea what it is I am doing wrong so this is why I'm here.

It starts fine. I was not home when it was dropped off, so the guy told my girlfriend to push the green button that says to operate loader push button, I did and the light over the button will not light up. So I can not get the boom to raise or the bucket to move. I don't want to drag it across my driveway so I'm not moving it unless I can of course lift the bucket off the ground.

ANY help anyone can lend would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Did you put your safety bar down?

Yes, but then re-set it. Should it be off, then hit the green button? It has a regular seat belt, not a safety bar, I thought you ment e brake.

Ok, I got in this thing in the dark to move it into my yard. Had no idea about the safety bar, Just went and looked at it, OF COURSE it has a safety bar, I could not see it in the dark. I'm a knuckle head what can I say. Thank you sir for the help. Will run it in the morning when I can actually see lol!

There's a bar above your head, all bobcats have them, once your in the machine you have to pull it down to activate the bucket lift and curl, so crawl in your machine, next hook your seat belt, then pull the seat bar down, start the machine, press the green button, behind your right arm their should be a small display with a boom, bucket, tires etc, make shur their all on and your on your way. The seat bar activates a mechanical lock on the floor pedals

I would LOVE to own one but other then a small area behind my house to build a good sized RC track I have no use for one. There just cool as **** so any guy should want one regardless of necessity lol! Thanks man for the help. Have this thing for four days but rented it for a one day use of 8 hours or less.

Will make it MUCH easier not to have to do it all in one day. Just worked out that way with the holiday. They dropped it off early at 7am this morning while I was at work. Picking it up Tues. They are closed the weekend and Monday. Said I could use it how ever I wanted as long as it was not more then 8 hours or of course I will be charged a second day. I won't let that happen.

Ok, so I go to start running the thing, get it pulled into my back yard and into the area I'm working and now this POS will not move. I have the E brake off, push the green buttom that says push to operate tractor and push the joy sticks both forward and nothing. It shudders and dies. In reverse too.

I have my seat belt on and the safety bar down. I have already moved in once and now NOTHING! NOT happy with the total lack of instruction I was given with this rental company. When I went and put my deposit on it not one single instruction, and since they dropped it off in the morning when I was not home and I expected it at 3 like they said they were going to drop it off at, I would have been home for some instruction. Now I'm wasting time jacking aroungd with it trying to figure out how to just move it vs running and digging with it. Meter is running and I'm doing NOTHING with it. Pissed to say the least.

ANY HELP would be very greatful!!!, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! to anyone can get me an answer quickly.

Sounds like the brake, did you try it both ways? And is their a click when press the button?

It sounds like one of the many sensors isn't doing it's job, quite common on these setups. Check which green light isn't illuminating on the panel beside the seat, it should show the fault (seat bar, etc). Sometimes just raising and lowering it a few times will solve it.
Also, since it is a rental, there should be an operator's manual in a plastic box somewhere inside the cab, usually beside the seat.
