Ok, I want to thank everyone for all the great info. I did contact the dealer and the 300CX is the loader, and the tractor is 3520 with the Ehydro transmission. We did decide to do away with the 72" MMM and upgrade the LX-4 for the MX-5, and also get the R-4 tires vice the turf tires. So now the dealer is saying for the 3520 with Ehydro transmission, 300CX loader with ballast box, 59" snow blower, 655 Tiller, and a MX-5 Rotary cutter, it will be $31,200. Also asked them to throw in a gator battery powered car for the daughters :) they said ok. First question is that a good deal or at least a decent deal? Second question they said it would be $1,200 for the John Deere Maintenance Plan Plus, is it worth getting. Like I said I know nothing about tractors so that is why I asked about the maintenance plan. Once again thanks for every ones help.

You need for them to list prices seperately for all the attachments. I know the snow blowers are pricey. Go to Deere's website and "build" your machine. Shoot for 15% off. Anything more is great. Anything less, shop around. Attachments don't have as much markup.

Personally, I would not get a ballast box. I would upgrade to a 6' box blade that weighs at least 500-600 lbs or more.
Typically, when using the FEL for dirt work, it is handy to have a box blade for helping to spread or scrape the dirt.

What part of the country do you live in?

Hi taz5king

Do you maintain your car/truck at all? If you are minimally machanically inclined, the 3x20's are VERY easy to work on... now if that 1200 covers busted hydraulic lines d/t operator error, flat tires, etc. and is all-around insurance... littlr different.

Supplies to do maintanence are not much if you use wix/ursa, etc insyead of brand name & already have tools, workshop, etc.

Plus 3yrs covered for man. defects anyway.

Like prev. said: get all attachments listed separately, then get at least 3 quotes from other JD dealers for same attachments & tractor set-up... also check Woods, Landpride, etc. attachment prices and let each JD dealer know what they are going for--know hp, weight, torque for all machines so you can make informed comparison btwn them & JD implements

I would wager, if you are a "horse trader" at all, you can get another 3-10% knocked off each implement, maybe more depending on your approach. Dealers sometimes make sales based on their monthly/quarterly volume & to keep business away from competitor... if you can, do research early in month & bartering last work week of month.

Tractor to tractor get best price & let closest dealer know what they need to match... again, just before EOM... if they can they will.

Buyer always holds the cards when purchasing--you're their bread & butter, so don't be shy about asking for best prices from them.

Good luck... you will have a ball.
