I was hoping you guy's could point at some good reading material. I'm very to new to tractors in general. IE Hydraulics, HST trans, Desil moters.

The best way I know of to find reading material on these subjects is to do a google search, www.google.com and type in the subjects you're most interested in. Don't be too general like just putting "diesel engines" in the search box. Use something like how tractor diesel engines work, or something like that.
There are not a lot of good books on the use of tractors, like how to do this and how to do that.
I think the information in the archives of this forum comprise some of the best information on tractors one will find anywhere. yes, much of it is no more than opinion, but then so are most books. John

Hey John,
Maybe someone should put all the opinions together and write a book???????? Might just have a best seller on your hands. I've been working on an outline for just such a book. Although most of the information on "how to" is coming from old timers I know, and what I know myself. Not looking to make a killing, but want people to have something to which they can make reference in the field. John

An outline is nothing more than setting out the chapters and generally how I want to write the book. This won't do you any good, but when I get some information down, I'll send it to you.
I will have to decide if I want to do it in a book form or online in a PDF or just a MS Word file. With everything else I have going on, it'll be a while. John
