Hi, Have been reading alot of the posts here for a couple of weeks and thought I would join. I find the information on this forum very helpful. My first question is this. I will soon be starting to raise some cattle on 82 acres of land near Corsicana,Texas. As far as tractors go I think from what I have read here that Kioti would be a good choice. Do any of you Texans know if there are any Kioti dealers near Corsicana? What size tractor(hp)would yall advise me to buy? Thanks in advance for the help. I'm sure I am going to have many questions as I have 0 hours in the seat of a tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Give us some idea of what it is you'll be doing with the tractor, and we'll be better able to advise you.
Are all the acres going to need something done with the tractor? Are you going to plough, brush hog, etc.?
I love my Kioti tractor and I'm sure you would love one too. Probably going to be in the higher range like a DK55 or DK65, but who knows until we find out what you're going to do.
Welcome to TBN and I hope you find plenty of help here. John

Well if you do a search using the word plow, you won't get nearly as much as if you spell it right, plough. I found out the hard way, wondering why I wasn't getting many results. John

I picked up a nice rusty vintage dearborn 10-1 2 bottom a while back. Got it cleaned up and painted and sitting with the rest of the implements in the back of the pasture.

There has been cattle run on it over the years but they have made it on whatever grows there. I do not plan on bailing just growing coastal burmuda for the cows to graze. Will plant a very large garden, have alot of lawn to cut, would like to dig a pond or stock tank, grade a road those type of things. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like 30-50 Hp would be a good bet. Don't limit yourself to looking at just one brand of tractor. Texas seems to be a very competitive state for tractor sales. You will have alot of options and the one thats best for you should be determined by sitting on the seat and operating the machine and not by reading information on the internet.

That seems like a pretty large hp spread to me. Are John Deere tractors that much more expensive than the imports? What implements do you think I will need?
