Pappy is correct the CK2510 and the 2610 are the Kioti comparable. I considered those also but the dealer was almost 2 hours away, so I never went and test drove one.

I just spoke to this guy. He seems legit. I think he just wants out of the payments. 215 LS Tractor XJ225 with Front End Loader This seems like a ok deal to you?

If you do buy it, make sure that the seller "owns" it, and whoever financed it won't show up with a repro trailer in a month... Don't know anything about LS tractors, but it looks fine otherwise, and 19 hours is "new". If the Post hole auger is included, that's worth $750 or so, at least, if you need it.

Well I have been looking around and so far I am really liking the Kubota 3301. The BX25D is a close second. There are some nice rebates on the L3301 in July. I still need to go visit the JD dealership too. Over the 25D I like that the engine does not need to rev up as high to get the tractor to do any significant work. I also like the larger wheels. The Kubota dealer quoted me a tractor with R4 tires. I think those would be fine but I have no grass to worry about so I am considering the R1 tires. I think I will appreciate the extra traction on my hill especially when plowing snow on my steep asphalt driveway. My only concern about them is that I read that the R1 tire has to be aired up to very high pressures to operate the loader. Is that a big negative? Would anyone ever put R1 tires on the back and R4 tires on the front? Might look weird

Nevermind! too much hassle making sure the circumference matches up. Ill just have the quote redone with AG tires. Should be a little cheaper too.

Good call on going with the ag tires. They will give you a LOT more traction than the R4's.

I doubt the L3301 will lift enough weight to put too much stress on the R1 tires assuming they're inflated to the recommended pressure on the sidewall.

I have a quote for a 3301 with R1 tires, hst, quick release bucket and a backhoe for a tad over 26K. John Deere could not even get in the same neighborhood. Another dealer is working me up a quote for both a 3301 in same configuration and a 2501 in same configuration. So my question is, other than motor and smaller hydraulic pump, are they the same? same amount of hydraulic fluid, use the same kind of fluid, the same petals, same controls, same in every way? I like in theory the lower rpm running 2501. I have always been a cubic inches over RPM guy. How are they different? Lets say they are all the same. My big question is...since I don't need PTO horsepower, would I be the perfect candidate for someone who should go for the 2501? The money saved could go into accessories like a thumb on the backhoe or extra hydraulics for a grapple, or Rim guard. How much of a price premium would you pay for the 8 HP? 1K? 2K? 3K? 4K?

R1s have a lot more traction in dirt, but not much (if any) on snow/ice. Expect to need chains to operate on a steep asphalt drive in snow with pretty much any tire choice.

Never had a machine with R-1s, but I never really got stuck with R-4s, (beauty of 4 wheel drive) and for rough terrain, heavy loads and snow, R-4s are best. They work well with chains, comparatively speaking, for icy conditions. And, as has been observed countless times here on TbN, hp equals speed, not capacity, as a rule- assuming equal weight.

For you guys looking into small TLB combos check your JD dealer and craigslist. I have my craigslist set to email any new listings for the term loader in farm equipment and heavy equipment. This one just popped up local to me. JOHN DEERE 125R TRACTOR, LOADER, BACKHOE

I need to step my tractor needs up to a larger 40+ HP with front loader to put a grapple on. I thought about adding one to my big backhoe but I would prefer to keep it as a loader backhoe and have another tractor on standby with the grapple. I will also need a better farm type tractor when I finish clearing the land I bought the backhoe to work. My final consideration on power is to have at least 30 PTO HP so I can get a PTO generator to have on hand. That seems to be the minimum PTO HP required for one of those.
