YOu have plenty of tractor ideas, so I'll leave that atm. However, I will say this. Stock up on those Saran/Plastic wrap spools. They are inexpensive. very fast and work a treat.. Get your pallet, give it a tight wrap (even when you 'think' its not necessary). You will be much happier. Don't ask how I know. :laughing: Tractors jolt the pallet around quite a bit, even a forklift going up and down a gravel driveway is going to shake things up.

Oh, I know all about that. We have had shippers spill poorly secured pallets off the back of liftgates because of bad pallet jack skills. In addition to shrink wrap I will keep my 4" web ratchet straps at the ready for tractor conveyance.

My dad had a big pnuematic fork lift he paid $400 for. Always ran good.

Stretch wrap will definitely be your friend. Good luck with the tractor search.

as someone who owns a Kubota B2650 - you may be able to do the 1000 lbs to 55", but you will be pushing it (if you can lift it off truck bed and then have the truck move out from under the pallet then lower the pallet to 12" you will be better off than trying to move with 1000 lbs that high). however driving up your driveway with it a ft off the ground not an issue. I use a 5' RFM and it works great.

I had not thought of having the truck drive out from under the load, but that would be a smart way to do it in the event of shipments that are near the tractor's limitations. After reading the manual on it again, it appears that the CM forklift attachment that I am looking at can be lowered onto a stabilizing "foot" so most of the weight (during lifting) can be transferred directly to the ground instead of the tractor having to support it all.

Sorry, I am still trying to learn all the acronyms. What is "RFM"

Thanks

RFM = rear finish mower

Based on your wants/needs I can tell you the only machine that can do all that (mid mower, lift 1000+lbs, etc) is a 3 series JD.
If you want to go acquire a ZT + Compact Tractor then a Grand L Kubota or a similar equipment will do.

You can also consider a rear mounted mower, but I can tell you something from experience...Is not the same...
I went that route and I'm regretting it, I should have gone with the mid mounted one, specially for when mowing around the house and trees.

Good luck.
