Given your circumstances, I would probably get the Yanmar as a stop-gap measure until your finances loosen up. This would allow you to do the upkeep on your property, with a view toward getting something with better parts availability--which is essential for long term ownership. If you manage to get a good deal, you could also probably sell the Yanmar for close to what you pay for it.

Not a bad plan. I need something soon for the building of the shop, and since I always take care of my stuff, I would have the definite option of doing well on resale, especially given the lack of inventory here.
