Franky did you end up buying a Century? If so, from what dealer? I am not to far from MA.

Yes I did. I bought it from Foskett's Equipment in CT. Not to far from the MA border. I would recommend them highly. Harold is the owner and a very easy guy to deal with. A real straightshooter. If you want a number or address for them drop me an email and I will find it on my paperwork for you.

I would not rule out any brand based on a single dealers opinion. I have talked to several dozen Kioti owners on different boards and in my home area. I have heard nothing negative from any of those who own one. With their 0% deal they are very competitive and one of the few new machines with warranty that can get close to what you want at that price point. Try to find a dealer of theese in your area and test drive a few so you can make first hand comparisons. Sometimes just the way one fits or looks can be a decideing factor. The Dk35 should fit your needs. There is a on line Kioti dealer that has prices and packages listed on line. They are not in your area but you might do a quick internet search just to view priceing. I am unfamiliar with the Century but What I have heard has been good. I dont think there are as many currently as the Kioti though.

Doc I havent ruled out anything. The dealer I spoke to Sold all three, Kubota, Century, and Kioti. Maybe his margins arent as good with Kiotis but he did put them last in a comparison of the brands he sold.

As for the price, I am well within my budget looking at Kioti 3054, Century 2535 and Branson 3510. Branson has good financing but there are NO dealers even remotely near me. I think that the Centurys/Bransons match up great compared to the big three in almost all catagories.

I am very pleased with my Kioti DK 35.
I may have been just as happy with Century/Branson, but since I never used one I really don't Know !
Like you I went looking for new tractors with no bias toward any one brand,I looked more for value, dealer,if I felt parts would be avalible, comfort and how well built I felt it to be vs $ .
Worked out very well for me.
Good luck /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Vince,

The Kioti has worked out great for me also /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif.

However, unlike you, I was bias towards my big 3,,, Deere, Massey, and NH. Don't ask me why, but Kubota has never been considered a big 3 with me /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif.

Bang for bang I just couldn't overlook the Kioti, plus I like the way they look and there mass!!!

My overall suggestion would be to look at all the brands you are interested in and go from there.

I am very pleased with my DK45 Kioti. I have rented several different Kubotas and JD's in the past. My Kioti is as good or better than anything that I have operated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one to anyone.

I have a JD 790 MFWD with a FEL, R-4 tires and LX-5 Rotary cutter that I just bought for 14,900.

I have about 40 hours on it now and have done quite a bit of work with it. I have 11 acres that were not attended to (no tracor) so it got a serious workout from the first hour. We also have 6 horses to take care of.

The tractor has been great, moving boulders, digging, brush cutting, moving dead trees, piling brush into bonfires, moving manure and dirt, loading stuff on my truck w/ the FEL etc. No problems and a very capable little machine. As I have gotten more experience the machine seems even better because I was the limiting factor originally. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The only thing I think you will have trouble with is the knocking down trees that you specified. This tractor and the other compacts in the same range are not going to consistently knock anything over 3"-4" in width down. I have had decent luck uprooting the trees by pushing as high up as I can reach with the FEL, if the ground is soft it usually works.

If you want to spend a few thousand more the JD 990 is basically the same machine with more HP in a bigger wrapper. I had crossed JD off my list because I thought they were to $$$$ until the 790 was touted by Chief.

Now I am passing on the info. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think the tractor manufacturer F-15 is referring to is long agribuisiness. I have a dealer near me and I REALLY like their machines. They have a much smaller presence in the US than the Kioti. I do not know how they compare to century or Branson. One thing about both the Kubota L3000 and the JD790 is that they are traditional style tractors, no step through operators area. This largely falls to personal preference but I do not feel theese models can hold up to the Kioti on a dollar to dolllar bang for the buck basis. One other thing to consider about the Branson is that I think they might be air cooled.
