Stoney, float position is for the lift arms only. While the bucket is in the float postion, the bucket curl cylinders are still active so if you move the joystick left or right, you can change the bucket position. That's handy if you are back-dragging or if the lip of your bucket digs in going forward and you need to rotate it up to float the bottom of your bucket along the ground.

And one other thing, if you have your bucket curled down while backdragging, and you pop the loader out of float, the front end of your tractor may go skyward as the front wheels come off the ground. That's when differential braking to steer comes in real handy. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
