We currently have 6 acres with about 3.5 of it grass but not manicured. Its a typical "in the country" yard. I currently have a B-7300 with a FEL that I use however if the growth gets away from me at all (NE Ohio spring/fall rains) it has a fairly hard time and there are some VERY soft spots as well. Also I'd like to clear another acre or so of semi wood heavily brushed area.

My question to those more knowledgable is, what is a fair price for a B-7800, 72"MMM, FEL? I was quoted "around 18-18.5" at our local fair by our local Kubota dealer. From what I've seen here while lurking, this seems high. Is this enough machine in your opinion or is it too much. There are not many obstructions or trees and most of the yard is set up with gradual turn corners to accomodate larger mowing equipment.

The biggest obstruction is the pool but wifey cuts there with a walk behind because she hates clippings in the pool area and even the B-7300 is tight to get around it.

Any suggestions opinions will be greatly appreciated.

Being in the same area I have similar problems myself.

Yeah it does by a little bit - you can check here for pricing:

It ought to be enough - you might be able to get by with a little smaller model (depending on what all your plans are) - but I probably wouldn't go smaller than a 2410/7610. I'm in a somewhat similar situation - 16.5 acres, maybe 4 or 5 in grass - we just bought a B2910 with a 72" MMM this past May. Prior to that we were using a Simplicity ZTR with a 44" deck and it was taking about a day to mow (if were were lucky) The 72" MMM has cut that dramatically - with me using the 2910 and MMM on the large area and the wife using the ZTR around the house we have cut it down to only a couple of hours.

And I was very impressed with the quality of cut the MMM delivers.

Think about skipping the MMM and instead get a brush hog for the "semi wood heavily brushed area" and rough mowing. With what you save, you should have enough left over for a decent riding mower to do finish mowing where it matters.
