Newbie Tractor hunting

Just picked up some property in TN. with my brother. Will mostly be for hunting and relaxation, but do have about 55 acres of pasture land. We are looking to maintain this and harvest some hay to keep our greenbelt tax rate. Have been looking at a L2350F Kubota. 25hp. Does anyone have any opinions on whether this will be under hp to work this type of property? Any recommendations on what might else be considered? We are a bit cash strapped after the purchase for now.

Welcome to TBN!! From what I have read you should have something with a min. of 40 HP PTO. However there are some smaller balers than run off 35 HP. Check out the other threads. There have been some good discussions and good information in some of them.

Thank you guys for the reply. Me and my brother are on the look out for some good used 35-60 hp 4x4 tractors. Some deals seem too good to be true on some sites. I know the old adage. If it sounds it, it is.
Looking at Kubotas, Case and JD's. Any feed back would be appreciated.
My boss at work said a 4x4 with front loader and backhoe will be almost mandatory. What say you guys?

4X4 with FEL great. Backhoe, probably very useful. I could use one maybe once a year or so. Good luck and welcome....

What is most of your utilization? My boss has a huge avacado farm, so he uses a lot of heavy equipment. The backhoe is just another piece. Be interested in hearing what you had to use yours for mainly. If the use is that low, rentals seem to make more sense unless you can find a used deal where one is thrown in with the purchase.
