1st post, WooHoo! Hey everybody I've been check'n this site out for a couple days and am impressed with the amount of knowledge tossed around various posts. I have owned an L2800 for a couple years now and want to install some worklights on the rops. I have picked up on some good ideas for mounting the hardware and am confident I can handle this OK but have limited electrical experience. I plan on using a couple 50-55 watt lamps fwd which will be run separate from one lamp facing bkwd. My first question is whether this is doable without any alternator upgrades? What guage wire should I run if the switches and relays are mounted in dash? Last of all, could someone tell me what size relays I need for this application?

Thanks in advance,
T

Welcome to a great forum.
You could wire your lights with 16 gage wire but you should run 14. Fuse it at 15 amps. Get a general purpose SPST relay at any auto parts store. Relay will likely be rated for 20 amps. Each light will draw less than 5 amps, less than 10 amps total. You should not have any problems. KennyV.

Thanks for the input guys. That should give me a pretty good start with getting this project going.
