Wonderful wild country up here in the Canadian Rockies at Golden BC. Have 400 hours on Kubota MX5000, plus 10 years and over 5000 hours now on older 2nd hand L245DT. Working on woodlot and mountain lodge acreage.

MX5000 has burned out ignition? I replaced a burnt out slow blow fuse and checked cutout switches for PTO and transmission, they look ok.
Dash lamps light up, battery ok but still no start. Fuses all look good.
I think it is the ignition switch that must be burnt out from jumping starts. We are far from kubota service and supplies. New ignition? and any other suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Thanks for the Golden Greetings - and welcome to TBN !

The switch isn't apt to be damaged from jump starts - it's likely ok.

Is the starter silent when you turn the key? Or is there a click? If there's a click you might just need new contacts in the starter solenoid. Kubota only sells the whole starter (big $) but the little copper solenoid contacts are available separately from other sources. I fixed my L3600 starter's solenoid for around $16.
If it doesn't even click, the plug where the small wire connects to the solenoid may be corroded.

Thanks for welcome rbargeron
When the key is turned there is no click, it is silent. I have arranged having it checked and will have the solenoid contacts checked. That little plug on bottom of solenoid maybe corroded, we have found it faulty and a poor contact previously.
Appreciate the advice

is there any chance i could get you to put a test light into the starter trigger wire and turn the key. this will tell if its starter or an electrical issue like a safety switch or ignition switch. if you suspect a safety switch you can FOR DIAGNOSIS PURPOSES ONLY (underlined 20 times) bridge the 2 wires in the swithes and see if it cranks over. this can tell you which switch is buggered or get in there with the test light and see if power comes out of them.

Well the MX5000 is starting OK now. I had replaced the slow blow fuse. The tech shop found the transmission shifter cutoff contact wasn't grounding properly in neutral.
Here's an image of our tractor and our woodmizer bandsaw cutting cedar bevel siding.

Hey Irv,

Welcome to TBN! :) Beautiful area you have there! We were just camping at Radium last week, and the "other side of the Rockies" is very enjoyable.

Thanks for the welcome, I wish I had found this site years ago, the old Kubota L245DT is trusty but getting long in tooth. Some great advice and ideas here!

I also built a mountain guest lodge(Welcome To Alpine Meadows Lodge, Golden BC, Canada) here. I took the following image from the deck the other day showing the Columbia River on our doorstep.
Cheers
