News of the weird- BX24 makes balls!

Mentioned in another thread I was taking the wheels off my BX24 yesterday. When I pulled the right front wheel off a ball fell out....thought at first it was a toy that somehow got caught up between the rim and steering knuckle.

Further investigation determined it was made of clay and very hard

I had gotten stuck in some clay in my pond bottom a few weeks ago and packed some in around the rims, apparently a large clump got in there and over time was rolled into a ball and hardened.

i had a similar thing happen on the rear of my bx, only it wasn't ball shaped. it was a lump of clay and sticks that got stuck between the rear wheel treads and the frame of the tractor up under the diesel tank. it started as a solid pack of clay, then when it dried out, i could occasionally feel it rub against the tire treads now and then for a few weeks. finally it was small enough it just kind of rode in it's own little pocket. it was too hard and too far back up in there to blast out with a garden hose. i finally got a pressure washer and that got it out just last week. it was probably in there for 3 months or longer.
