I just bought a leftover 08 NH 2320 45hp 4cyl, and this winter was its first. When it was very cold the motor would run away until it got up in temp a bit. Anything below 20 degrees you had to be sitting on the seat ready to shut the key/fuel off because it would start running away, and would go right past redline. I was lucky I happen to be standing beside the machine the first time it did it.
Depending on how cold it was I would have to shut it off between three and ten times before it would idle correctly. I called Purdy's and talked to their head mechanic and he had never heard of one doing that and there was no TSB on it. Purdys is about half a days drive from me, so to haul it down when they have no idea what to look for seems silly, especially when it only does it in very cold weather. The tractor only has 70 hrs on it, so I need to get this resolved this year before the warrantee is up, but I was hoping that someone else has experianced this.
Has anyone had this experiance and if so did it get resolved?
