I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to find the hydraulic dipstick on this tractor. The FEL has a little hitch and I wonder if the hydraulic fluid is a little low. Despite all efforts I can't figure out where to check the fluid. Can somebody help me. Thanks.

It's #3, should be on the RH side of the rear axle center housing.

Well I have gone over that area with a magnifying glass......and there is no dipstick there. Called the dealer and they said some are up around the deck.....find nothing there either. Apparently these a made more than one way. Anybody else with a suggestion? TIA

No it's not a compact. Finally had the dealer come by, He couldn't find it either. We finally started taking bolts out of the hydraulic area and found the right one. It's on the left side of the hydraulic case. Not on the back, but the left side about 5 inches from the rear of the case. There is not a dipstick, but it is like you see on a gearbox. You take the bolt out and the fluid comes out...just like on a gearbox. Fill through the same hole....just like a gearbox. Strange to me (and the dealer was also surprised). Didn't need any fluid. At least I know how to check it now!! Thanks for the interest.

It just says 3010 up on the hood. How could I tell if it was an "s"?

Thanks for sharing your info. I've been searching for the dipstick and fill bolt for my 3010 for a couple of days now! The owners manual clearly shows a dipstick and fill bolt near the PTO engage lever.

As for the difference between the 3010 and 3010S, Near as I can figure, the 3010 was made back before New Holland was bought out by Ford. When the company became Ford New Holland, they produced the 3010S, which was essentially the same tractor with just a little less hp. I think the dividing line is somewhere between '02 and '03.

Ford didn't buy New Holland. New Holland bought Ford in the early 90's, labeled the tractors Ford-New Holland til I believe '96 and then labeled them New Holland. Controlling interest in New Holland was bought by Fiat who then also bought controlling interst in Case International and is now called Case New Holland (CNH). At least that's the way I remember it. I believe it was still New Holland in 2002 and 2003.

Thanks for setting the record straight. I'm not sure where I got my story but I read it (or something close to it) as I was researching a tractor I was wanting to buy. Just goes to show you can't believe everything you read on the Internet.

So, does anybody know the difference between a NH 3010 and a 3010S? There's not much info on these models out there.

Go to tractordata.com and click on Ford-NewHolland. The 3010S is shown there. The 3010 is shown in the New Holland section. Apparently, the 3010 was made in Mexico and the 3010S manufacturing loacation is not indicated.

the 3010 and the 3010s is the same tractor they are more of a econmy tractor run during the 30series tractor. If it is a 3010 it is a S series tractor made in mexico and after fiat bought out newholland and the 3010 is a fiat designed tractor never a ford design like the early newhollands where

newholland had to take of the ford name in 1996 and fiat bought out newholland in 1998 and case ih in 2000-2001

Is there a way to operate a front loader on the 3010S without having to hold down the hydraulic lever? Also will the lift work independently of the hydraulics? Thanks.

Does your machine not have detented remotes? If no detent, bunji the remote open that feeds your loader spool.

As to 3pt, did that machine have a 2 pump option?
