I have seen farmers split the female part of the driveshaft (corner to corner) with a bandsaw or sawsall and squeeze it together and reweld the seams. This is a {"work around" way of removing some of the slack--Ken Sweet

That sounds like a good idea, I may just give that a shot. That shure is cheaper than replacing the shaft. I appreciate the help.
