NH 757B Backhoe Choppy

I have a Ford 1520 with a NH 757B Backhoe. I was finally using the backhoe this weekend and the movement of it seems very choppy. When the arms move it just shakes the whole tractor and they swing back and forth. Is there an adjustment on the valve that can add some smooth to this backhoe? What RPM am I supposed to set the engine at for best performance? I had it set it at the 540 mark on the tachometer. I obviously don't have an owner's manual.

i use 15--1700 rpms for most all of my bh work. slow down the rpms and the bh should settle down until your technique improves.

I don't have the same model BH as you but the lower RPM's until you get the feel is good advice. Also on my unit I try and feather two circuits at the same time to slow things down. For example I find the swing stop to be a bit abrupt (shakes the tractor) unless I am real cautious. If I am curling/ un curling the bucket when I stop the swing all is smooth ( no shaking). Most swing operations require the bucket be adjusted anyway so I am not wasting any motion just syncronizing them to get a smoother motion.

Thanks for the replies. I did get an owner's manual. I am going to try bleeding the system by running all the cylinders full open and full closed. I will also try to use a little more finesse and see how that goes. I admit, I am a little harsh on the controls.
