I've talked to a couple of dealers and both estimated $6-7K installed for a Westendorf loader so I thought I might as well get a newer tractor while I was at it.

If you like and are having no problems with the TC40D, I'd keep it and buy a loader for it.

Be careful of buying a contract tractor. You could be left with an orphan tractor. Just like the bobcat tractors of yesteryear !

I previously had a 2003 Case DX33 and 2009 DX45. I believe these were Shibaura made where my 2015 was the switchover to LS. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. My 2003 and 2009 were bulletproof. I worked them hard and never had issues.

I believe mine has Perkins engine. Tractor made in Italy ?

jk96, you are correct. I believe the LS change over happened in our around 2012. Supposedly due to the tsunami in Japan it hurt Shibaura's supply chain, they went up on tractor prices, etc. So CNH bid it out to LS (mistake in my opinion). Can't beat those Shibauras for reliability and comfort. I have one, my dad had one, and my FIL has one. Sure wish they'd bring 'em back!!

To the OP, the JD 3R series is ahead of the LS-Built CNH tractors in terms of quality and fit/finish. But they are thousands more in cost.
