I don't want to offend any NH owners or potential buyers on this forum but I am curious if what a Kubota dealer told me is true. He told me that the NH Boomers, or at least some of them, use a Kubota engine. He said that if a competitor is using their engine it speaks for itself. Is this true or was he just trying to use it as a marketing tool. I didn't buy from this dealer because I had heard some derogatory comments about him.

When Monday comes rolling around... stop back and thank this dealer... tell him you took his advise and bought the New Holland Boomer with the Kubota engine...

Some Korean tractor manufacturers are using the Kubota powerplants and brought into this country, but New Holland Boomers are made by Shibaura of Japan which is also a fine company... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Kubota engines are used on a lot of high quality equipment. Bobcat uses Kubotas in their skidsteers, excavators and a few other products they make. EarthForce like the one MChalkley uses has a turbo charged Kubota. Frankly, I think it is a superior engine to the Shibura diesel. I have a NH 2120 with the Shibura, it is not nearly as nice as the Kubota diesel I have in my Kubota L48. Quieter, less smoke by far and considerably more power. Shibura diesels are fine little diesels, don't get me wrong, I just happen to think the Kubotas are about the finest small diesels made. Yanmar is also a very worthy competitor in the small diesel market. Rat...

fiction as far as newholland is concerned. There new skid steers all us the same engines as the boomers and larger tractors.

According to the IT Used Tractor guide, all newer model NH tractors use either the shibaura, Cummins, or NH engines.
