Dealer NH shutting down non-exclusive dealers?

Corriher's in Newton took on the Montana line several months ago. This will be very interesting. I don't think that NH would force any dealership to stop selling their product if they maintained good sales numbers.

Large conglomerates are always looking for ways to increase market share and lower cost. A small local AGCO dealership was forced out by AGCO several months ago due to low sales numbers. A newer MF dealership has now taken over the AGCO line.

Competition is good but we now have an over-supply of manufacturing capacity in compact tractors. Heck, we've got an over-supply of manufacturing on many items.

If I was a dealer how would I sell two completely different brands of tractors if they were the same size and performance? That's a tough one.

New Holland does not force out other venders, they do use it as a criteria for some discounts that you get though. Deere does the same thing, exclusive Deere dealers get better discounts than mixed brand dealers. The good thing with CNH is that if we are duel branded we can make up that discount in other area's. We just got the results of a survay about dealer/Mfg relationships, each vender was scored in about 40 catagories. Kubota scores the highest (in like 30 of 40 areas) followed by Massy, New Holland, Case then Deere at the bottom.

Its been the norm for these companies to be thinning out the smaller dealers. Our industry is headed towards tractor super stores becaues the volume enables lower prices.

Well I haven't purchased yet(still at tire kicking stage) but I have been watching local dealers for a chance to look at a TC26 (or 24/29) for that matter. Local dealers always have TC30 or TC34 then step down to TZ25.
But anyway I was driving by thelocal dealer Monday (holiday) and thought it strange that nothing but "Orange" out front with a couple of "Blue" machines at the back fence behind the main building. That makes sense now.
I am really impressed by the quality of the New Hollands but if "they insist" I consider buying Orange!!
