Oil & Fuel NH specific fuel question

/ NH specific fuel question #21
I have a 55 gallon barrel in the back of my truck that I go to the nearest fuel wholesaler for red diesel with and I asked him last week if it was ULSD while he filled me up and he said it is now.
Also I've never heard of or seen any winter grade diesel around here. We could use it though. I've seen 0 degrees here before but typically the teens and twenties are about norm on winter nights. Then it's usually up in the 50-70 range by mid day.

Thankfully I've never had any ULSD gell up in my truck or tractor though. At my last job as a shop foreman for a car dealer I did though. ALL THE TIME. They needed to drive them trucks sitting on the lot more. Or put some additive in the tank. They always kept them near empty and that made it a lot worse.
I always try to keep my tanks full.

Thanks fellas'. Its a longer drive to get the "red" fuel, so I won't have to worry about making the longer trip and just stick with the "taxed" stuff.
What about home heating oil or fuel oil as it is also called?
Here we have service statiions and home heating oil companies both in the same ares.
So it's about the same distance to either one.

IPoking around I get real confused. As Lbrown says, in his neck of the woods they have one choice, be it home heating or whatever. Others here are saying home heating isn't as clean as off-road diesel.

At least around here, Mass & Conn, home heating and off-road are one and the same coming from the same tank. In my experience both are as clean as on road diesel.

That's why if i heated my house with home heating oil or fuel oil as it's also known as I'd be getting my tractor fuel right out of the tank that supplies my furnace .
The heck with fooling with 5 gallon cans and hauling it from the gas stations and paying an extra 40 to 50 cents a gallon to boot.
