Tractor
FARMALL M, FORD 4600, FORD 2000
I have been looking for a low hours used tractor for a while now without much luck. I want to use it for mowing and baleing with a NH 570 with thrower.Today I called the NH dealer about new ones and he recommended the TD 5030 and the TD 80. Just wondering what the differences between the regular T5000 series and the TD are. Also if anyone knows an aprox. price difference. I am looking for a 2WD or 4WD open station without a loader. Thanks in advance.

The T5000 line is the old TL if I recall correctly. The TL was the modern tractor with more electronics and lots of features. The TD was an economy line which was more basic with limited options.

I just got worried when I heard economy, that it wasn't made as well or it was a inferior model.

No, the economy lines are basically just older designs and simpler. that keeps their cost down.

I just got a td 5030. It is 4wd,cab, fel with bucket and hay spike. It was real close to 31,000. It has the 820 loader which doesn't seem as stout as the 33loader on the tn75 I have. I didn't understand the econemy rating either. The service man says they have more sheet metal than their other lines. The only thing that kinda worries me is the engine is a product of nh and case working on design. The tractor has everything I would want on a tractor. Moving up to 5050 is about 3000 more. The loader is 6800. The way i understand it is the 5030 replaces the 80.

The TD5030 replaced the TD80, and what it is a very simple and very mechanical tractor. You will find that it will not have near as many options on it as you will find on a T5000 series. As for the motor they are fine. Most people do not know this but in 2006 Fiat (which ownes NH) built more motors than cat and john deere combined. These TD series are good tractors if someone is looking for a simple tractor.
