Steve, in regards to doing not-so-amazing things:

I use a lot of roundup in the garden areas to keep the weeds at bay. My wife has many gardens and many plants. I always manage to get in a groove and spray at least two 'good' plants every time I spray. I used to fess-up to these accidents and ended being forbidden to spray in the gardens. Now, I'm back to spraying in the gardens except I don't tell her when I spray a good plant by mistake. I sprinkle the unintended victims with water to rinse off the roundup and I keep quiet. I also weed-whip a few flowers every week. /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif

Well, I have been experiencing an inner-ear problem that affects my balance at times, so I am often 3 or more points off center /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

JR - The Woods website suggested HP range for the RD7200 is 20-40 hp, for the RD8400 its 25-40 hp. I personally would not want to run the 84" behind the TC29D, I would recommend going with the TC33D or larger. The TC29D is just too close to the bottom of the range to operate comfortably and therefore you would be really straining for 10 acres worth of mowing where the TC33D would be under less stress for that much mowing. You have to consider the wear and tear you are submitting your tractor to for the long term. There is no doubt it could pull it and turn the blades but to do it for 4 or more straight hours of performing at its limit several times a year, can not be good for the long term 'health' of the tractor. Also consider with a mower of that size you will want to mow more frequently to keep the grass down to a manageable length for a finish mower. All things considered, I would go TC33D/84" or TC29D/72". And if you really want to know what I would do, I would move up to the TC35 with shuttle shift in which case you definately have no problems with the 84" and probably save $500-600 on the tractor. That's what I did, and yes I would do it again.

I have a Woods brouchure. It states RD7200 is recommended for 20-40 tractor HP, and the RD8400 is recommended for 25-40 tractor horsepower. The NH brouchure states that TC29D has 23.9 PTO HP, and the TC33D has 26.9 PTO HP. Assuming this is PTO HP, then the max "recommended" combos would be TC29D/RD7200 and TC33D/RD8400. I don't think these are written in stone, but should give you good indication of how they should match up. Hope this helps.

My reply was definitely made in jest. As I said before things have been pretty stressful lately. Me and those doctor fellows are just not seeing eye to eye. So I guess I try to inject a little humor into most things, so that I can try to avoid these stressful times.

I'm still fairly computer illiterate. I seem to have come from that generation that is trapped between the abicus and the space shuttle. Sometimes little things like cut and paste ,etc seem to just bounce off my rapidly balding head. I guess its time to go buy one of those "Duh This Is A Computer For Dummies" books.

Coffee Oh God How I Miss Coffee! Thats one of those things that those Doctor fellas and I don't see eye to eye about. Oh and my condolences, will you be having a memorial service for you travel mug.

Well I just finished the last of three days of visits (hassles) with those Doctor fellas for a while. So now I'll take time to sit down and catch up on those personal messages.

You might try contacting Brandon Nixon, a TBN'er that goes by bnixon. He was going to purchase an 84" RFM to go behind a TC45D. But then he downgraded to a 72" RFM. Then he also downgraded to a TC33D. So he would probably have some very recent knowledge concerning mower sizes versus tractor sizes.

Kodiak is correct I did just buy a First Choice 72" RFM and a TC33D. I must say this is a perfect setup!/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

I would not put a 84" on a class II boomer. It would run it but the weight of the 84" RFM is almost 400lbs more and I personally think it would be too big and heavy.

As I get more seat time I will keep you all posted on how this setup works.

Thanks for the condolences /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif. I've had two of these travel cups because they fit perfectly in my truck's cup holder, and this style isn't available anymore. But my wife took one somewhere and left it and can't remember where /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif. So when this one broke, I thought - Oh No!/w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif. What am I gonna do now??

Then I remembered the thread about "Favorite Stuff". I got home that evening and got out some of my favorite stuff - SuperGlue - and presto, chango - it's all fixed! /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif/w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif

Sorry to hear about your hassles with the doc's. They're a necessary part of life, but sometimes it seems like they create more "pain" than they cure. But, I'd hate to think what we'd be going through without them! But I don't know - they'd have a real battle with me about the coffee! My wife says I drink so much of the stuff that if I get cut, I'll bleed coffee! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

Thanks for your recomendation. Actualy I was thinking the same thing and took a look a MF 1250 this weekend with 33 HP and the shuttle shift. I have about 7 acres that needs to be cut with the 84" deck. The MF dealer wanted $19,600 for the MF 1250 with a loader and the 84" deck.
Is this a good price?
Is the New Holland TC35 in that price range?
