NH TD 5050

Just wanted to add to the TD 5050 info. Just purchased a new one, two wheel drive, loader, open station. Had 6 hours on it and the same problem occurred as spoken about here. Synchro shift was leaking and not working well. Returned it to the dealer and was told it was the $4 seal and had to split the tractor and fix. Still waiting on its return.

Just wanted to add to this info

The td series tractors are now all being produced in Turkey, for the last 18 months or so they have been produced there. Before that it was in italy. We have sold several of the td series this months are our location, and have not had one problem with them. they are a good tractor for the money. The strange part is that they are considered to be an economy tractor yet they have more metal sheetmetal than the tl and t5000 series.

:) Just purchased a NH TD5050 this week. It is a open station MFWD tractor with a 12x12 shuttle and a 820 loader. I feel that I got a good deal on the tractor but the loader was about $7,000.00. Kind of steep if you ask me. But to get a 80 PTO horse power tractor for $30,000.00 is not too bad considering. Just wanting to know how they perform in the field?

I work for a NH dealer here in NE Texas and we have sold several TD series tractors over the life of the series. We have had good luck with them up until this summer when we started selling the new TD5050 made in Turkey. There have been A/C problems on the cab units and some other random problems. We have determined that the problems we are having are QA problems in the plant. I personally have a TD75D and I won't trade it for any other tractor NH makes. If I could find a TD series that was made in Italy I would buy it in a heartbeat to go on my hay operation. Good Luck!!

Thanks........First year in the hay with this tractor. The only thing that I have noticed was a blue fluid leaking from the front end somewhere and the steering freezing solid in the cold. Now doing hay and the power steering seems to be acting up. Hard to turn at times.

The main reason that the loaders are so high on the TD series is that the dealer can't order the tractor "loader ready". So the $7000 loader also includes all brackets and the joystick and hydraulic value. Most other or the more expensive line you can order the tractor with the joystick and value factory installed.
